Oooook! - lahoma ....where the wind, etc. etc. etc.
Oh the weather outside is... kinda nice, actually! Its always surprising the difference in climate across the country - I dont know why this comes to a surprise with the various altitudes, geographic locations, etc. - But, I have to say, I dont miss shoveling snow! Here in the south - (even in OK) this time of year is gorgeous. The leaves still change (at least where there ARE trees) and it does eventually get cold. BUT, in Oct and Nov its just niiiiice. Maybe in the evenings you'll have a brisk upper 40 degree type of thing and the random dip into the 30's - but during the day its a gorgeous 70-sumthin and well, it just makes me happy!
Oklahoma City provides a place to rest my head this weekend as we perform Orff's Carmina Burana tonight with the Oklahoma City Philharmonic. Rehearsals have been going well, and the chorus continues to get better and better! It always amazes me the dedication and hard work that chorus volunteers are able to come up with. BRAVO GUYS! (and gals) - Its also been a pleasure to catch up with my good friend CS! We were apprentices together back in the day at Santa Fe Opera - Its been so fun to watch her career explode and to always be greeted with the same sweet smile and wonderful attitude. Not to mention, she ROCKS! In addition I have had the pleasure of meeting AS - a wonderful tenor faced with the daunting swan roasting, handling it very well. It makes the weekend soooooo much nicer when the people that you hang out with are juts good peeps!
I head back to Dallas tomorrow and then off to NYC on Monday for auditions, coachings, lessons, etc. It will be a GREAT week!
