My regrets...

My sincere regrets for not keeping up with my postings...as my father says, "its always something when it comes to home ownership." I have been very busy these last few weeks organizing my garage, ridding my flower beds of weeds, planting flowers, fertilizing the lawn, laying down new sod, mowing, edging, and other acts of random lawn work! In addition, we have been continuing with daisy's puppy classes, and I have been working out at the gym. All the stuff that opera singers do when they arent working! Its actually amazingly therapeutic to have the option of mowing the lawn and working in the yard during the day and then coming in and sitting at the piano to learn act 3 of Aida!

I'm not quite sure how I'm going to handle leaving Daisy as I embark out on my next gigs. I have another month to come up with a good plan. Perhaps by then they will have a way to miniaturize animals so that you can carry them with you in your pocket!? Hahaa, probably not. I guess we will just have endless isight chats where I say, "Daisy!!" and then she looks around half-crazy at the computer screen tilting her head thinking, "Daddy?"

Speaking of, I decided to go ahead and read "Marley and Me" - I'm only into like the 4th page and have already started tearing up. I mean, the guy starts off right off the bat telling you how he lost his dog that he had growing up! I cant even imagine the day when Daisy is no more. Ok, ENOUGH OF THAT! -- Anyway, I'll have some additional reading. I'm already knee-deep into reading my uncle's book, "Sweetie's Diamonds" - and might I say that its a GREAT book! Its released all over the place...so, if you are looking for a good book to read, go get Sweetie's Diamonds by Raymond Benson. Its under Fiction. I better get to reading. :o)

The Swing of the Routine

I wake up at around 6:45am to the gentle cries from the kitchen as Daisy tries to exclaim that it is time for her to go outside and do her business. I get up, climb over the doggie gate, go into the kitchen to open Daisy's crate, and let her outside to go potty. She is usually very good and quick, as she has been holding it all night! When she finishes, we go back inside and I give her breakfast kibbles. Almost immediately its gone and she is in need to head back outside for some well-needed fertilizing.

After the morning session as I like to call it, we head back inside for Daddy rest time. (I dont usually wake up in the single digits!) After I catch a few z's (hopefully) we have some exercise time by playing fetch in the backyard or in the long hallway in the house. She is soooo cute! ...and VERY good at fetch!

In the afternoon I try to get to the gym and either get on the elliptical or swim laps. I'm still having some trouble with my torn calf muscle, so its usually 2 days on, 2 days off. But, hey...I'm going!!

The rest of the day is typically spent working. I have a few songs to learn and memorize as well as a new opera role to learn and an old friend to re-acqaint myself with. Speaking of, I'm headed to a coaching!!!
